Tracie Risling
RN, PhD is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Nursing at the University of Calgary, the President of the Canadian Nursing Informatics Association, and the newly elected Vice-President of the Canadian Nurses Association. With a practice background in pediatric nursing, Tracie has spent 17 years in nursing education teaching, conducting research and engaging in curriculum design and evaluation for both undergraduate and graduate programs. She also facilitates workshops on the advancement of nursing scholarship, including study on teaching and learning. Tracie leads a patient-oriented program of health and nursing informatics research including study on artificial intelligence, social media, co-design, and patient access and use of electronic health records. She is a passionate advocate for increased nursing engagement in the development, deployment, and use of digital solutions.
